West Vancouver is where the region exhales. Just across the Lions Gate Bridge from downtown, it climbs from the seawalk at Ambleside up into the forested slopes of the British Properties, trading density for space, privacy, and some of the best ocean views in the country. For all the estate homes, the waterfront is surprisingly walkable and social. Ambleside and Dundarave are proper seaside villages, with cafes, galleries, and a promenade that fills up on any sunny morning. Further west, Horseshoe Bay is a working marina town and the gateway to the ferries. The condo and townhome market here is smaller and quieter than the North Shore’s east side, which is exactly the point for the people who choose it.
