Yaletown

Yaletown was Vancouver’s warehouse district. Converted in the 1990s and gentrified steadily through Expo 86 and beyond, it’s now the city’s most walkable waterfront community. The seawall runs from here to Stanley Park and south to Olympic Village. It’s the kind of neighbourhood where residents walk everywhere, every day.

The building stock is split roughly 40/60 between the original converted brick lofts (character, concrete ceilings, no balconies) and purpose-built towers from 2000 onward. The lofts trade at a premium for buyers who want the aesthetic; the towers offer better layouts and amenities. Both hold value well.
